Mental health counseling in the land of gross national happiness.

A short video of two counseling professionals from the University of Rochester who spent only three weeks in Bhutan. It certainly left an impression. We’ll be spending three months!

In 2015, the first Bachelors level training program for counseling was started. This year, the first class to complete the training will be graduated. Steve will have the pleasure of teaching them psychopharmacology for therapists in their final semester.

  1. WE are enjoying traveling along with your adventures. We printed out the information about your work and the educational system there and find it very interesting reading. Happy days. We are impressed with your stamina in carting luggage and your explorations of the mountain country. We enjoy looking at your Bhutanese garb and find it quite dignified and ceremonial. Life there seems to be ceremoniously conducted. The food you show looks delicious but maybe a bit spicy? We are very impressed with the free medical and educational systems. Hope you will keep up some of this good detailed reporting. How do you find the time to do it? Love, Will and Caper
